Steven Van Yoder
Founder and Executive Director
Steven founded the Global Initiative to Advance Entrepreneurship (GIVE) in 2005 after several trips to Asia. During his travels, he encountered widespread and often extreme poverty that led to profound human suffering and deprived individuals, families, communities, and entire countries of achieving their full potential.

Looking for grassroots solutions that would help people help themselves, he drew from his expertise as a marketing and business consultant to develop approaches beyond philanthropy that leveraged the power of entrepreneurship to achieve sustainable solutions.
Over the years, he’s helped GIVE form partnerships between businesses, nonprofits and social entrepreneurs in the United States and targeted countries to help low-income people and communities in Indonesia, the Philippines, Cambodia and India, and the USA.
Today, Steven is re-engineering GIVE’s focus on entrepreneurship to advance a broader human agenda of economic, mental, and physical wellbeing for people and society.
He’s working with organizations, including Returns On Wellbeing Institute, to combine targeted philanthropy, pro-bono work, and expert capacity building for projects that will help individuals, businesses, and society to enhance human and societal wellbeing.
